Who is the target audience for Experience Institute? How might Ei explore scaling in a more nuanced way? How might we prototype tools that can empower self-designed learners and export the values of Ei?

These were the questions that defined my first term project.

They sparked countless user interviews while collaborating with comrades Olenka and Chevy; led to pitch meetings and working sessions alongside Ei’s core team, Victor and Aaron; and ultimately led me to gravitytank, where I acted as an institutional bridge to a team prototyping our early phase concepts for a learning toolkit.

I made an arrangement early on to collaborate with Experience Institute in a hybrid role –– both as a student and staff researcher. However, instead of spreading this work out through the year, I concentrated on Experience Institute as a primary part of my first term. This experience made my first term not only about exploring my own personal learning leap, but the movement of self-designed learners and the tools they need to thrive.
